Hi Steve

Great story and a great way to getting down to the basics of becoming wealthy.

I believe being wealthy starts in the mind and ends in the physical, but most of us don't get this until there is a tipping point. I think this article will be a tipping point for a lot of people.

Excellent reduction to its essence, Steve. I especially liked this:

“Since then I’ve learned what justice is. True justice is to reap what you sow. And I was harvesting what I had sown and Bahram was harvesting what he had sown. I was still suffering from the delusion that economic rewards were granted by some authority who gave preference from an ivory tower. I still believed that there was some central distributor of wealth who hated me and this was a problem only he could fix.”

Lots of people think this way—there’s a man behind the curtain orchestrating in all. All that needs to be done, according to “them” is change the man—a new wizard in a hat selling snake oil (thanks to Joe Tiller, Purdue’s football coach, for that last phrase).

@Matthew Cornell - "Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.” - Albert Einstein. Sounds very similar to Steve's.

I like both quotes :)

Steve,

I have heard this type of story from many different successful marketers. You have to have a end goal that is more than just making money. Your story should be an inspiration to those struggling to survive in their quest to earn more income. I could not agree with you any more than the way you put it. I will ask my team to read this - again and again.

Cheers,
Dale Fildes

> To get more, we have to become more for other people.

Beautiful - thanks very much. Goes on my 'great quotes' list.

I like this, Steve. Especially how you've connected freedom and liberty with wealth. There are so many people who have become dependent on government for a handout and those people will probably never be wealthy because they think that Uncle Sam will take care of them. The problem with ever having to rely on someone else to take care of you is that they will usually barely take care of you and they will ask for too much in return. In the case of any type of government handout, the price of the handout is liberty. It always is. Even if there are no immediate strings attached, ultimately the recipient has helped to increase the scope and size of government. But they've also established a dependency, and any time you are dependent on anything you've sacrificed freedom.

I've recently started working on some software that I'm not sure many other people have the combined skills to create and I intend to market and sell it when it's complete. Unfortunately, it's taking a lot of my time but that is usually one of the prices of wealth--at least initially. In time, the wealth will give me more time and the marketing should help take care of itself with a few modifications to my family's lifestyle.

Anyway, the interesting thing is that the idea for the software and the ability to program it all comes from inside, just like you said.
